Senior Vice President, Konga Group
Okezie Akaniro is a seasoned business executive with over 25 years of multi-sector experience spanning financial services, telecommunications, upstream oil and gas, insurance, and omnichannel e-commerce. He joined Konga Group in 2021 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Logistics business—overseeing strategic direction, operational execution, and revenue growth in this critical vertical. His efforts have driven revenue growth, improved profitability, and enhanced customer satisfaction.
Okezie's career includes 18 years in commercial banking with GTBank and United Bank for Africa (UBA), where he managed multi-branch operations, cross-border banking across eight West African countries, and structured complex credit deals involving local and foreign currency financing, infrastructure, and asset acquisitions. He later held senior roles at AXA Mansard, where he pioneered the SME and Emerging Corporates Group—growing its Gross Written Premium from zero to over ₦1 billion in two years—and served as a Non-Executive Director of AXA Mansard Health.
He also contributed to strategic initiatives at Globacom and led project-focused logistics and operations at Conoil Producing Limited, supporting multiple oil drilling campaigns. Recognized for his business acumen, strong leadership, and people management skills, Okezie has directly managed teams of over 200 staff and consistently drives high-performance culture across organizations.
Okezie holds a PGD in Business Management from the University of Liverpool and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Accounting from Abia State University.
